Well let me start off by telling you that I have a lot of birds in my backyard. I have Robins, Blue birds, Sparrows and even have some quail. I love sitting on my back porch. I enjoy all the great views, that are afforded me, from living in such a wonderful place as Alpine, Utah. The other night I was out on my deck, watching these Robins communicate    with each other. The one in the little movie I made, had been chirping along for about ten minutes. You could hear others in the distance chirping as well. It was quite interesting.

I tried to make the same sound, but to no avail. I then snapped, go get your camera. So I quietly walk  in the house, and grab my video camera and start filming. As you can hear, as I was making  my way back outside, I swear he knew I was up to something. You can hear him change his chirp to something a little more, what it sounded like to me was a more aggressive chirping sound. I am sure he knew I was filming him. I think to myself, wow, this is a smart bird. He is telling all his friends now, that some crony with a camera is trying to get some footage of their conversation.

Okay, so I might be exaggerating  it a little, but still, come on, this bird seems to know what I’m doing. I was moving very slowly and trying to get in a position so you guys could see him. I wasn’t  sure my camera would even pick up anything. It was almost dark. But it did a good job, considering there was hardly any light. So back to the bird. I really should have gotten the camera quicker. I missed a lot of the conversation these birds were having. I can only imagine what they were saying.

“Hey George,” “Yeah ralph”.  ” Three birds were walking down the street. Two walked into a bar, the other one ducked!”. “Yeah Ralph that’s a good one”. Well, so they might not have been telling jokes, but they could have. So when the tone of his chirp changed, I’m thinking it was something like this. “Hey George.” “Yeah Ralph.”  ” One of those things that can’t fly is watching us” “Yeah Ralph,so what we gonna do”. “Watch this George, I’m gonna tell him that he can’t fly and fly past him laughing.” “okay, Ralph you do that, that will be hilarious.”
